- Warmline for elementary school children who may be lonely or frightened
- Supports parental rules
- Provides "out-of-harm's-way"
intervention
CONTACT's KidsLine offers this "warmline"
telephone service for elementary school children. It is a place where children can call if they are home alone, lonely, scared
or just need to talk to someone. This program supports parental rules and can provide "out of harm's way" intervention,
if necessary, for the safety of the child.
The KidsLine program of CONTACT of Northern Illinois
is the only helpline in Stephenson County specifically aimed at elementary school-age children. As with adults,
children also sometimes have the need to have someone to confide in about their fears or something that is going on in their
life. The KidsLine provides them with a place where they can find comfort and security in the fact that there is
someone available to call on if a need arises, 24-hours a day.
KidsLine is answered by our
teen volunteers when they are present during TeenLine hours. At all other times, KidsLine is answered personally by
CONTACT's 24/7 crisis helpline specialists.
