CONTACT of
Northern Illinois (a.k.a. Contact Stephenson County) is a telephone ministry, which originated in Australia
in 1963. A minister who had experience first hand of the needs of those who were lonely and troubled and needed another
human being responded by making help available to them . . . as close as their telephone.
CONTACT crisis helpline is many things and has much to offer our community. CONTACT volunteers are dedicated people
giving of their time and concern to help . . . whether it be a lonely person in the middle of the night, a teen in crisis
or someone in need of a listening ear.
CONTACT is a non-profit organization supported by contributions from
the United Way of Northwest Illinois, the Freeport Community Foundation, the 708 Board, churches, civic organizations, private
businesses, interested individuals and grants.
What ever the reason for the call, CONTACT crisis helpline volunteers
are here to listen.
All calls are free of charge. No charges are applied
to any CONTACT crisis helpline services.
